The descent of Inanna is a Sumerian myth generally thought of as an allegory to explain the turning of the wheel from summer to winter and back again. Yet I have found it to be a powerful metaphor for the process of addiction and recovery. In this programming session we will explore the myth and how it relates to addiction and the difficult process of recovery. For those who wish to participate, we will have a guided meditation of Inanna's and our, or our loved ones' descent into the underworld of addiction and reemergence into the world of recovery.
