Healing Wounds, Finding Insight: Using Tarot for Emotional Insight and Trauma Recovery
Friday March 21, 2025 10:30am - 12:00pm CDT
This workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to explore the healing potential of tarot as a tool for reflection, emotional insight, and growth. Led by a licensed clinical psychologist and trauma specialist, participants will learn how to use tarot to support trauma recovery in a safe and structured environment. Tarot cards serve as powerful symbols for processing emotions, gaining personal insight, and fostering self-healing. The workshop will introduce specific tarot spreads that are carefully designed to address themes of trauma recovery, emotional awareness, and personal empowerment. Participants will gain practical tools for using tarot in a therapeutic way, without the need for prior experience or sharing personal trauma. To ensure an optimal learning space for everyone, the workshop is structured to be informative and experiential, rather than a venue for processing or discussing individual trauma narratives. The focus will remain on the reflective power of tarot, promoting emotional insight and healing while maintaining a supportive and balanced atmosphere. This trauma-informed approach to tarot is designed to empower individuals to use the cards as a means of personal growth. Through this hands-on learning experience, participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how tarot can be integrated into a self-healing practice, offering insight and clarity for their journey toward recovery.

Dreaming Practices of the Maker Shamanic Tradition
Friday March 21, 2025 1:00pm - 2:15pm CDT
“The dreaming body is that part of ourselves that is wild and uncontrollable, but houses our totality, or the rest of it, as well as our animal natures, knowledge without reason, seeing without sight - it is the part of us denied a place at the table since birth.” ~ Gary Mills Lorrie Adams will present an overview of the dreaming practices of the Maker shamanic tradition. Learn how Makers understand dreaming as an energy that one can learn to access and control. This will not be a discussion about how to have precognitive dreams, do dream interpretation or attain lucidity in dreaming. The focus of Maker dreaming practices goes deeper than these practices, although it could include them. The intent for Makers in dreaming is to ultimately move beyond the complex imagery of our dreaming minds and into the energy of dreaming itself. We will discuss how Makers seek to tear through the fabric of dreaming, which is made up of ones own reason, or rather the energy of our reason, in order to access what's behind that dreaming fabric.

A Snake on the Pillow: Asclepian Dream Healing
Sunday March 23, 2025 11:00am - 12:30pm CDT
Asclepius, the great-grandfather of medicine and very possibly the first psychotherapist, had a unique and effective approach to healing, offered in the over 300 asclepieia (healing centres) which flourished in Greece for an astounding 1,000 years between the 6th century BCE and the 6th century CE: recognizing the power of the liminal to offer healing wisdom. So important and respected was his approach that asclepian healers were a significant part of the Eleusinian Mysteries. The fourth day of the Mysteries were marked by the Festival of Asclepius during which initiates undergo “dream incubation” in preparation of the march to Eleusis. This presentation is an introduction to Asclepius, asclepian dream healing, and the power of the liminal spaces to transform.

Spirituality for Feminist Killjoys: The Magickal Power of Getting in the Way
Sunday March 23, 2025 1:30pm - 3:00pm CDT
Philosopher Sara Ahmed defines a "feminist killjoy" as someone who is willing to get in the way, disrupt what is harmful, find joy in building a more just world, and refuse to stand by in the face of misinformation or injustice. In this session, we'll discuss the importance of countering misinformation and injustice in our Pagan and Craft communities, along with techniques for doing so. Susan draws on her own experiences as a feminist killjoy disrupting transphobia, biological essentialism, and misrepresented history in her own Feminist Witchcraft tradition, as well as her work to build a more just, inclusive, and joyful community.
